PC version of Crysis 2 to offer best graphics

Posted on Monday, June 08 2009 @ 21:22:11 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Crytek confirmed that the PC version of Crysis 2 will offer better graphics than the versions for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
When Crytek announced that the forthcoming Cryengien 3 would be a multi platform development, PC fans had been very disappointed initially. It had been expected that the appropriate games based on the Cryengien 3 would look the same on PC and PS3 respectively Xbox 360. This would have been a step backwards for Crytek given the usually more powerful PC hardware - the Cryengien is regarded to be a figurehead for maximal graphics after all.

But it seems like all fears have been raised in vain. Crytek boss Cevat Yerli emphasized in several interviews at the E3 how important the PC would be. The Pc version of Crysis 2 would be superior to the console versions for PS3 and Xbox 360. It is not the goal that Crysis 2 looks the same on the PC and the consoles. The Crysis 2 team has a clear target: To create the most innovative and best looking shooter for the PC.
