LG.Philips LCD to aggressively move to next-generation TFT-LCD production

Posted on Thursday, December 09 2004 @ 17:24:48 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

LG.Philips LCD expects 38% of its total LCD capacity will come from its sixth-generation (6G) plant next year. The company also said it will invest more than 3.9 trillion won (US$3.7 billion) to fund capacity expansion.

The company started mass producing 6G panels this August and stated it expects to ramp up more capacity through 2005, with 6G capacity to account for 38% of total capacity in 2005, up from 9% in 2004.
