    Posted on Thursday, August 27 2009 @ 21:03:36 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

    CNET had the opportunity to test the power consumption of Sony's upcoming PS3 Slim console, and the results are pretty impressive compared to the original PS3 60GB. Sony claims the PS3 Slim is 34 percent more efficient, but the results from CNET show savings of over 50 percent:
  • Standy: 1.22W => 0.36W
  • Idling: 171.35W => 75.19W
  • Blu-ray movie: 172.79W => 80.90W
  • Game / idling: 203.84W => 95.35W
  • Game / playing: 206.90W => 96.24W
  • YouTube: 181.28W => 85.08W
