Quotes for Samsung Electronics’ 17-inch LCD monitor panels to be delivered in January have dropped by US$2 on those delivered in December, according to system makers. Most Taiwan-based panel makers see the small drop as a signal that panel prices are bottoming out, while several system makers are predicting more dramatic price drops from South Korean panel makers in the first quarter.
