Microsoft to partner with Sony against Apple's iTunes?

It is said that Microsoft is in talks with Sony to cooperate against Apple in the digital music market.
Bill Gates has said that, although nothing formal has been announced yet, the two companies could benefit from a broad partnership in digital entertainment.
