Microsoft to launch anti-virus tool - and fights against spyware too!

Posted on Friday, January 07 2005 @ 20:34:46 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Microsoft hasn't only launched a anti-spyware scanner - they also unveiled plans to offer a simple anti-virus tool that will be updated on a monthly base.

Microsoft says that its anti-virus tool will not replace virus scanners, it it just designed to augment them.

The anti-virus software from Microsoft will be available from January 11 and will be updated every second Tuesday of the month with new virus definitions.
