Sony will buy Japanese LCD fab

Sony will buy the Japanese LCD panel factory from the Taiwan-based Chi Mei Optoelectronics. This will increase Sony's capacity of small LCD panels for usage in portable electronics devices, this includes mobile phones and digital cameras.
Sony will pay 18.5 billion yen ($176.2 million) for the facilities.
