intel Pentium E6600 to run at 3.06GHz

Posted on Wednesday, October 21 2009 @ 01:02:57 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

FUD Zilla reports Intel will debut the 3.06GHz Pentium E6600 processor on January 17th, this chip will retail for $84. On the same day you can also expect the Pentium E6500 2.93GHz to drop from $84 to $74.
The CPU is not really that exciting but it is the first Pentium processor in 45nm Core 2 generation to get over 3GHz. It will run at 3.06GHz and it has two cores and supports two threads, as well as 2MB cache and 1066FSB. It stilll uses the good old socket LGA775 and when it launches on January 17th it will sell for $84.
