FUD Zilla reports Intel will release the Celeron E3400 on January 17. This $53 part is clocked at 2.60GHz, it has 1MB L2 cache and could be up to twice as fast than the Celeron 440, while costing only $9 more.
In an Intel controlled Web Video conversion test, that includes tests with DivX 6.7 and VirtualDub 1.7.2, the new Celeron E3400 finishes the same task some 115 percent faster than the old Celeron 440.

It gets even better as in Itunes 8.2 Audio MP3 encoding E3400 Celeron finishes the test 143 percent faster when compared with Celeron 440. In Web photo resizing test using Windows Live Photo gallery, the new Celeron E3400 can do the task some 40 percent faster.
