NVIDIA expected to announce third-quarter profit tomorrow

Posted on Wednesday, November 04 2009 @ 16:32:47 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

NVIDIA will report its third-quarter financial results tomorrow. While AMD had the most attractive lineup for gamers, industry sources told FUD Zilla that the company is likely out of the red. The sources say NVIDIA's revenue will be up, the company will be back in the green, although the profit is expected to be only a small one. The fourth quarter is expected to be even better, due to Fermi and shortages of the ATI Radeon HD 5800 series.
The demand was stronger and sales was better compared to Q2 and despite the fact that Nvidia’s Fermi is not out, Nvidia sells pretty much any chip it has in stock. ATI has huge shortages of its 5800 series and this helps Nvidia to sell any remaining GT200s.

Nvidia missed a big opportunity to make even better financial score in its financial Q3, between August and September as if they ordered enough GT200 wafers that would be making even more money. We believe that revenue will be quite high but the actual profit won’t be that great, however it will still be better than losing money.
