Gigabyte X58A-UD7 debuts with USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps

Posted on Monday, November 09 2009 @ 22:30:38 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Gigabyte's EX58-EXTREME 2 motherboard has been renamed to X58A-UD7. This upcoming P55 motherboard for LGA1366 processors is equipped with a watercooling block for the Northbridge and offers six DDR3 memory slots and four PCI Express x16 slots. One of the new things on this motherboard is the inclusion of two USB 3.0 ports and four SATA 6Gbps ports. Pricing is unknown but it's expected to be over $400.
The upcoming release includes six SATA 3.0 Gbps and four SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, two USB 3.0 and two eSATA connectors, dual Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, FireWire, Power and Clear CMOS buttons, and a debug LED. The GA-X58A-UD7's price tag should be over $400 so the board is going to be one expensive Christmas gift.
