The Tech Report noticed Dell is now taking pre-orders for the Adamo XPS laptop, this system is only 0.39" thick and is estimated to start shipping on December 23rd.
Prices start at $1,799 for a system with a 13.4" LCD display with 720p resolution, a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel GS45 chipset with integrated graphics, 4GB DDR3 memory, 128GB SSD, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, 2MP webcam, DisplayPort, and Windows 7 Home Premium x64. External dongles for DVI and Ethernet are included with the laptop, but dongles for VGA and HDMI are optional.
Dell doesn't quote default battery life, but it says the optional 40 Whr battery (priced at $100) will keep the system running for as long as five hours and 17 minutes. The company also quotes a system weight of 3.2 lbs with the standard 20 Whr battery.
