ASUS TS mini home server uses Atom

Posted on Friday, November 20 2009 @ 04:22:15 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

The Tech Report writes ASUS introduced a small and inexpensive Windows Home Server system based on the Intel Atom platform. The ASUS TS mini system measures just 9.6" x 3.8" x 8.0" and is priced at an affordable $349.99.

For that price you get a system with a 1.66GHz Atom chip, 1GB memory, 500GB HDD, a spare 3.5" drive bay, Gigabit Ethernet, six USB 2.0 ports, and two eSATA ports. The system is powered by a small adapter, it uses 24.5W at idle and 27.9W under load.

    There's also a $529.99 model, that one has a 2TB HDD and 2GB memory.
