Posted on Tuesday, November 24 2009 @ 00:05:10 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Forward Concepts president Will Strauss said portable computer shipments are expected to hit 165 million units in 2010.

The market research firm predicts netbooks will capture 17 percent of the market with about 28 million units in 2010, while smartbooks will grow to a marketshare of 3.6 percent, or about 6 million units. Regular notebooks are expected to remain dominant with a marketshare of 79.4 percent, or about 131 million units.
