Asustek vice president Tony Chen revealed sales of ultra-thin notebooks account for about 10 percent of the company's 2009 notebook sales. This is significantly less than anticipated, but Chen said this segment is expected to rise significantly in 2010.
To better compete in the market, Asustek adopted several exclusive technologies in its UL-series ultra-thin notebooks including Turbo33 to deliver system stability and enhanced performance, Chen noted.

Asustek, Micro-Star International (MSI), Acer and Lenovo have all recently adjusted their proportion of ultra-thin notebooks of total notebook shipments from previous forecasts of 20-30% to around 10%, according to industry sources.
