Verbatim rolls out 250GB Pocket Drive

Posted on Thursday, December 03 2009 @ 05:25:02 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Verbatim introduced the Pocket Drive, a new portable 1.8" HDD with 250GB of storage capacity. The device measures 90mm x 64mm x 14mm and will be available soon for about 125EUR. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with the new USB 3.0 standard.
The Pocket Drive, despite being about the size of a pack of playing cards, benefits users not only with its storage capabilities but, also offers pre- installed backup and synchronisation software. The Dmailer backup software with data encryption can be used to enable secure backups whilst the Verbatim Sync software allows data between PC and external drive to be synchronised with ease. The Sync software works with all file types and provides synchronisation of mail boxes and web site details, such as browser favourites.

Weighing just 85g, the sleek 1.8" Pocket Drive allows you to carry 250GB of data with you wherever you go - that's equivalent to 113,636 photos, 62,500 MP3 music files or 500 videos. Cased in an attractive black aluminium housing, the Pocket Drive has stylish form as well as professional function

The Pocket Drive is compatible with the Windows 7, Vista and XP operating systems. A reassuring blue LED light on the front of the drive is illuminated when data is being transferred.
