Avalache of Atom N450 based netbooks to arrive on January 11

Posted on Friday, December 04 2009 @ 20:29:09 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

DigiTimes writes we can expect Intel Atom N450 based netbooks from ASUS, Acer, Lenovo and MSI on January 11, 2010. Systems with Windows 7 Starter will be the most prominent (and the most expensive), but there will also be models with Windows XP Home Edition and Moblin Linux.
Asustek Computer, Acer, Lenovo and even Micro-Star International (MSI), which originally planned to launch in December, are all set to launch their Atom N450-based netbooks on January 11, 2010, complying with their agreement with Intel to only launch the products after January 10.

Several smaller makers such as Taiwan-based Clevo and China-based Malata will also be ready to ship related products to clients in the US, Europe and Southeast Asia shortly.

Vendors are conservative about the launch of the next-generation netbooks with concerns of possible inventory pileups, which caught some vendors earlier in 2009.
