Last month Intel settled all disputes with AMD for $1.25 billion, but that doesn't stop the government from going after Intel's ass. The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) sued Intel today, the agency claims the chip giant abused its market position for a decade to block competition and strengthen its monopoly. More info at Reuters.
"Intel has engaged in a deliberate campaign to hamstring competitive threats to its monopoly," said Richard Feinstein, director of the FTC's Bureau of Competition.

"It's been running roughshod over the principles of fair play and the laws protecting competition on the merits."
Intel's shares are down 1.57 percent at press time, while NVIDIA and AMD shares are up 7.92 percent and 5.15 percent, respectively.
