Sixteen 300mm wafer fabs to open in 2005

Market research firm iSuppli said that 2005 will bring a record number of fabrication plants making 300mm (12 inch) wafers.
The firm said in a report that 16 fabs will be established this year, which is more than 2003 and 2004 added together.
