Microsoft plans test version of Internet Explorer 7 for this summer

Posted on Tuesday, February 15 2005 @ 20:03:55 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Bill Gates announced that Microsoft plans to make a more secure version of Internet Explorer, IE 7.

Probably one of the reasons why Microsoft changed his Internet Explorer roadmap is because some of its competitors, mainly Firefox, have quickly gained marketshare the last few months. Microsoft's browser roughly lost 5% marketshare since mid-2004.

A test version of Internet Explorer 7 is set for this summer and will feature new protections against spyware, phishing scams and viruses.
