Microsoft AntiSpyware to be available for free

Posted on Tuesday, February 15 2005 @ 21:30:59 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Bill Gates announced today that the final version of Microsoft's AntiSpyware program will be available for free for all Windows users.
"Spyware ... is something we need to nip now," Gates said. "We made the decision that all of our Windows licensees should have that (antispyware) capability. I'm excited we got this technology and it addresses a burning need for our users."

A month ago Microsoft launched a free beta version of their anti-spyware program but they didn't state whether the final version would be available for free.
