Virus that pretends to be send by the FBI

Posted on Friday, February 25 2005 @ 00:08:12 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

The FBI warns for a new virus that pretends to be coming from the FBI, which it is of course not.

The virus e-mail tells users that the FBI's Internet Fraud Compliant Center has monitored the user's internet usage and that they have found the user accessed illegal websites on its computer.

The e-mail then asks users to open the attachement, which containt the virus, to answer some questions. As always be very cautious when you receive these kind of e-mails - and please also use a virus scanner!
