Computex, held every year in Taipei, Taiwan, provides a platform for
hardware manufacturers, big and small, to showcase their latest, greatest
and most innovative technologies yet. First held in 1981, Computex has grown
over the past 29 years with the ever rising popularity in consumer
electronics and our reliance on Information Technology. Taiwan has become
the centre of technological development since its emergence as an industrial
powerhouse in the 1960s and the country is now home to some of the biggest
computer manufacturers in the world, including ASUS. So it is very fitting
to have the world's second largest computer expo (after CeBIT, Hannover) in
the home of consumer electronics.
