Sony to ship 1 million PSPs to North American market before March 24

Posted on Tuesday, March 01 2005 @ 21:37:26 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Sony plans to deliver 1 million PlayStation Portable consoles to North American retail stores before its March 24 launch.
The PSP launched in Japan last December and remains in extremely limited supply there, having shipped nearly 1.2 million units to date. Sony maintained its forecast for shipping 3 million PSPs worldwide by the end of its fiscal year in March.
The PSP will cost $249 and will be shipped with an UMD disc version of the Spider-Man 2 movie and some other accessoires.
