Sony PSP European launch delayed with few months

Posted on Wednesday, March 16 2005 @ 22:32:24 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Sony will launch the PlayStation Portable in the United States next week, on March 24. But unfortunately to be able to provide an adequate supply to the US the company was forced to postpone the launch of the PSP in Europe with a few months.
'It's been deferred. We were originally hoping for an end of fiscal year (March 31) launch, but now that's not going to be the case,' it quotes a Sony spokesman. 'It is likely to be a matter of a few months rather than a few weeks - it's a matter of allocation.'
PlayStation Portable shipments are already tight in Japan, following the shipment of 1.2 million PSP units to the United States.
