    AMD dual-core Opteron launch advanced?

Posted on Friday, April 01 2005 @ 19:00:19 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

AMD might launch its dual-core Opteron processors to the middle of the second quarter instead of in the third quarter.
In the second quarter, the sources believe that AMD will launch its dual-core Opteron 200 and 800 series processors, with the respective codenames Italy and Egypt, for servers that incorporate two or more processors.
The AMD Opteron 100 series is expected to be available in Q3.
