    AMD plans dual-core Opterons for April 21

    AMD will launch new dual-core Opteron chips on April 21 at an event in New York. The company expects that its dual-core chips will be available in June.

    First they will release the high-end 800 series and later in May the 200 series will follow.

    The price of the 800 series will range from $1,514 for the Opteron 865 to $2,649 for the Opteron 875. The Opteron 265 will cost $851 and the Opteron 275 will go for $1,299.
