Xbox 2 to be called Xbox 360?

Posted on Thursday, April 14 2005 @ 22:49:45 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

The latest rumours confirm that Microsoft will call its next-gen Xbox the Xbox 360. The logo is said to be a simple, round nexus, and the console itself should have a concave design with a platinum white finish.
As for the logo of the console, it is described as a simple, round nexus with "Xbox 360" written inside it. Previous rumours had simply the numbers "360" in the disc. This branding tends to suggest that we can expect to see "360" appearing after many game names, as happened with the Nintendo 64.
Microsoft will present its next-generation Xbox (360?) at May 16. The global release is expected for the end of this year.

This is hardly new news - 4 weeks ago Spong.com ran an exposé on an xbox focus group where the name was revealed to be 360
