As you can see, the quad-core Phenom IIs are all $10 cheaper than before, and AMD has chucked in two new models—one at the low end and one at the very top of the line. In the Phenom II X6 family, prices have dipped as far down as $175, although AMD's fastest desktop offering remains not far from the $250 mark. That'd be a hard sell next to Intel's blisteringly fast Sandy Bridge CPUs... if those Sandy Bridge CPUs had shipping chipsets to go with them.
