Imation settles with SanDisk

Posted on Thursday, February 03 2011 @ 01:01:34 CET by

EE Times reports removable storage maker Imation signed a patent cross licensing agreement to settle a lawsuit by SanDisk:
Under the terms of the agreement, Imation will pay SanDisk royalties on various flash memory products, including USB flash drives and solid state disk drives, SanDisk said. Imation also entered into a stipulated judgment of infringement and validity in SanDisk’s favor on claims of U.S. Patent No. 7,137,011, which covers the use of certain encryption technology in a memory card, SanDisk said.

The specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed. SanDisk said it still has two infringement cases remain pending against Kingston Technology Company Inc.
