FUD Zilla reports Intel's Huron River platform will get WiDi 2.0 with 5.1 surround sound support:
Of course we are talking about Huron River, a Sandy Bridge-powered platform. The first generation of Wireless display was capable of 720p and it naturally got better with the new generation.

Intel plans to add HDCP 2.0 content protection as well as 5.1 surround support for its wireless display and this is expected to happen before back to school. This time frame usually targets late July and August as this is the time when most students usually get new notebooks.
