Review : Iomega® HDD 80GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive

Posted on Sunday, September 29 2002 @ 04:33:21 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

OCworkbench has reviewed a Iomega® HDD 80GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive :
Are you the on the move and you need high speed capacity drives with a large storage to work with your media ? You would also like to access it from your notebook or from your PC that is hooked up to the projector? Well Iomega HDD is here to the rescue.
The Iomega® HDD Portable Hard Drive makes security, recovery, and data storage easy. This total storage solution for PC or Mac® comes in 20GB, 30GB, and is compatible with USB 1.1 / 2.0 and FireWire. Its rugged, slim design makes it easy to take your data with you, wherever you go.

As most of the newer PCs are all equipped with USB 1.1 (12 Mb/s) or USB 2.0 (480 Mb/s), connecting the Iomega external HDD is a breeze. With a speed of 7200rpm compared to 5400rpm and 4200rpm on the lower capacity versions. We should be able to get speeds as close to conventional IDE HDs running 7200 RPM.

The Iomega HDD 80GB measures only 1.25" x 4.5" x 7.25" and has a weight of 1.8 lbs. It comes bundled with Iomega® QuikSync™ and Disaster Recovery Software, USB 2.0 interface, cable, Power Supply (100v - 240v), MusicMatch® Jukebox.
