Will NVIDIA SLI never work with Windows 2000?

The Inq writes that NVIDIA's SLI may likely never work on Windows 2000 systems because NVIDIA isn't planning to write a Windows 2000 driver. They even wonder whether the SLI card is a Windows XP architecture only..
