GeForce 7800 GTX to be launched on June 22?

Posted on Wednesday, May 25 2005 @ 22:24:22 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Some details about NVIDIA's G70 were posted by PureOverclock. They wrote NVIDIA will launch the GeForce 7800 GTX, 7800 GT and 7800 on June 22. The 7800 Ultra will come later and will be a higher clocked GTX, possibly made on a 90nm process.

The GeForce 7800 GTX will be made on the 110nm process and will feature 24 pixel pipelines. Its core will be clocked at 430MHz and its memory at 1.4GHz. The card will ship with either 256MB or 512MB of memory and will feature a memory bandwidth of 38.4Gb/s.

There is also speculation that only the GTX model will allow SLI and that the 7800 got its name from the score it produces in 3DMark05.

Power supply demands have stayed the same. A single GTX will need a 400W PSU with 24A on the +12V rail and two GTX's in SLI will need a 500W PSU with 34A on the +12V rail.

    Pricing isn't available yet.
