HTC making smartphone for Intel?

Bright Side of News heard a rumor that HTC has made Android 2.3 smartphone prototypes for Intel:

One of hot rumors we heard at the show floor here at IDF 2012 is that there are Intel folk walking around with smartphone prototypes running Google's Android 2.3 OS… made by HTC.

While it is not certain when Intel will launch its smartphone, our take is that the company is more targeting the launch at CES 2012, as it is an American conference, rather than wait for Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, Spain (February).
