Posted on Monday, June 06 2005 @ 17:24:39 CEST by

ATI today launched the Mobility Radeon X800 XT which will bring better performance and high-quality graphics to notebooks. This new mobile graphics core is the first to feature 16 pixep pipelines for notebook graphics. It also has six vertex engines, as well as a 256-bit memory interface and GDDR3 support.
"ATI continues to push the performance frontier in mobile graphics for today's most visually intense DirectX 9 games," said Patrick Cooper, director of product management for Alienware. "By offering mobile systems based on Mobility Radeon X800 XT, we can deliver the ultimate gaming experience that's second to none."
The Mobility Radeon X800 XT will soon be available from manufacturers like Alienware, Rock, Eurocom, VoodooPC, HyperSonic, Pro-Star, Velocity Micro and Sager.

AnandTech has just tested the Alienware Area-51M 7700 notebook with ATI's Mobility Radeon X800 XT and was quite impressed with the performance.
