    AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 overclockable to 3000MHz

Posted on Thursday, June 09 2005 @ 16:47:11 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

The Inquirer says the upcoming AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 processor will be overclockable to 3GHz and beyond. Normally the processor is clocked at 2.8GHz but it seems it will be simple for users to overclock the processor above the 3GHz barrier with normal air cooling.

AMD is expected to launch the Athlon FX-57 processor within two weeks.
