Skyrim developer team shows off game ideas (video)

Posted on Thursday, February 09 2012 @ 21:29:10 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

After the completion of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda's developer team was given one week to build whatever they wished to see in the game. A video of some of these ideas was shown off at D.I.C.E. 2012 and it contains many things that would be pretty awesome if they ever made it into the game. It includes seasonal foliage, new weapons like spears and ice and fire arrows, mounted combat, dragon mounting, Kinect-enabled shouts, new creatures like werebears and enormous mud crabs, a Lycantrophy skill tree, flying vampires, and much more.
Howard made no promises that anything seen in the demo reel would ever make it into the game, whether as a title update or downloadable content down the line. But it did showcase the depth of what the Bethesda team built and a creative instinct within the team that matches the mod community's enthusiasm, stoked recently by the release of the official Creation Kit.
