Posted on Tuesday, March 27 2012 @ 22:17:40 CEST by

VR Zone reports ZTE plans to launch an Intel-based Android smartphone in the second half of 2012. Surprisingly, the pricing of this phone is expected to be very budget friendly:
Today, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments have dominated the smart devices processor market, and chip giant Intel is waiting for the opportunity to penetrate this market, especially in China. Last weekend, ZTE said that in the second half 2012, it will launch Intel-based smartphone with extremely attractive price point. According to reports, ZTE's smartphone will be equipped with Intel Atom Z2000 mobile processor and runs Google Android OS. The company also mentioned that the price will be around 1000 yuan (approximately US$160).
