Icy Dock presents the MB992SK-B, a new full-metal backplane cage that fits in a 3.5" bay and supports two 2.5" SATA SSD/HDD storage devices. It will start shipping towards the end of the month, pricing is unknown.

The metal material used grants heat dissipation transfer from the hard drives to the mobile rack. Lastly, Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT) and EMI Grounding are used to provide a stable environment for the hard drives or SSD's used to perform at its best.

Bringing more utility your hard drives, a LED is installed into the front of the mobile rack to provide drive status information at all times. Active Power Technology (APT) allows each LED to be on only when a hard drive is inserted into the enclosure. For drive security, the eagle-hook lock system on the tray makes sure your hard drives will not eject when not needed. Additionally, the 2 segment key lock provides extra protection to theft of hard drives as well as safeguards any sensitive data.
The brand new EZ Slide Micro trays make drive interchangeability and maintenance completely hassle free. The trays are also designed to accommodate 7mm to 9.5mm height hard drive and SSD, creating a 2.5" hot swap bay for any standard SATA hard drives and SSDs.
