SimCity gameplay trailer (video)

Posted on Sunday, October 07 2012 @ 20:20:38 CEST by

SimCity Societies was a pretty horrible game, but now EA is returning the series to its roots with the Maxis-developed SimCity. The included video clip below shows off nine minutes of gameplay, illustrating the new, more granular approach to city design, new city planning choices, new building types, and lots of other improvements like roads that now include water pipes plus electricity.
Check out the first look at gameplay as Lead Designer Stone Librande walks through the basic strategies and simulation of SimCity! SimCity is about endless choices. Ultimately you can do whatever you want, focus on growing your population, increasing wealth or even build a city that looks like your hometown. Whatever your motivation, you have to the power to experiment with a number of different strategies. How you choose to play will influence your city, the neighboring cities and the lives of all the Sims across the region.

SimCity is anticipated to be released in February 2013 for Windows and OS X.
