Microsoft announced the Surface tablet with Windows 8 Pro will hit the market in January, prices start at $899 for the 64GB version and $999 for the 128GB model, but none of the two tablets come with a keyboard included.

The Windows 8 Pro version of Microsoft's Surface features a 10.6" display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, an Intel Core i5 "Ivy Bridge" processor, 4GB DDR3, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, microSDXC memory card slot, two 720p HD cameras, stereo speakers, a full-sized USB 3.0 port, Mini-DisplayPort to drive an external screen of up to 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, a kickstand, and support for Pen input (the pen is included).

The tablet weighs under two pounds (907g) and is less than 14mm thick. Battery life is said to be only 4 hours, just half the amount of the Surface RT, even though the Windows 8 Pro tablet's battery has almost a third more capacity with a rating of 42Wh.
