DigiTimes reports both Asustek and Gigabyte expect to see no growth in their motherboard shipments in the new year. ASUS predicts its 2013 motherboard sales will decrease 2.3 percent from 2012 to 21.5 million units, while rival Gigabyte expects 2013 sales will remain flat at 19 million units.
Asustek will ship an estimated 22 million motherboards in 2012, dropping 5.2% from 2011 and 12% short of the targeted 25 million units set in early 2012 due to shrinking DIY market demand.

Gigabyte's shipments of an estimated 19 million motherboards in 2012 will increase 11.8% from 2011. In addition, Gigabyte will ship an estimated 3.5 million graphics cards in 2012, hiking 20.7% from 2011. The company expects to ship 1.45 million motherboards and 340,000 graphics cards in December.
