Intel Ivy Bridge-E hits the market

Intel introduces its Ivy Bridge-E enthusiast platform. It took the chip giant two years to replace the Sandy Bridge-E series and the new lineup consists of three processors; two six-core models and a quad-core. These LGA2011 chips have a TDP of 130W and feature a quad-channel memory controller that supports up to 64GB of DDR3-1866 memory. Pricing ranges from $310 to $990.
