Microsoft's Windows 10 launches on July 29th but retail availability of PCs with the new operating system is expected to be very slim on the launch day. Most vendors are still rushing to get the systems on the shelves shortly after the official launch date, but it seems Dell and HP will be among the few to ship devices on day one.

Dell is currently taking pre-orders for Windows 10 devices and claims it will ship these on day-one, if you live in the US. Other countries will have to wait a bit longer. HP is making similar claims, they offer Windows 10 PCs for pore-order on the HP.com website and will ship these on July 28th so consumers will receive the device on July 29th via the free next-day shipping option.
Mike Nash, vice president of product management for consumer PCs and solutions at HP, said: "Right now, a customer can buy select PCs with Windows 10 directly from HP.com and it will ship on 28 July. We are offering free next-day shipping so customers will receive the device on 29 July."

If you want to try before you buy and pick up a Windows 10-powered HP laptop, you'll have a few extra days to hold out.
