    Microsoft launches WinFS Beta 1

Posted on Tuesday, August 30 2005 @ 03:05:16 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

To everyone's surprise Microsoft today made the first beta version of WinFS available to MSDN subscribers.

This will enable developers to focus on Windows File System's (WinFS) new capabilities.

Microsoft recently said Windows Vista won't feature WinFS yet, the WinFS update will come a few months later and probably it will also be available for Windows XP.

WinFS Beta 1 can be downloaded over here but you need to a MSDN subscription to download the 76MB file.
