iPod uses one of Creative's user interface patents

Posted on Wednesday, August 31 2005 @ 09:38:34 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

The Inquirer learned about a U.S. patent from Creative which is related to the user interface of portable media players which allows users to navigate and select tracks.

Creative's CEO Sim Wong Hoo says the user interface was invented by Creative search and development engineers and was first filed on January 5th, 2001.

Creative says Apple also uses this technology but it is not clear whether Creative will try to sue Apple.
