Olympus presents EVOLT E-500 dSLR

Olympus has launched a new 8 megapixel digital SLR camera. The new Evolt E-500 is priced at $799.99 and features a 2.5-inch LCD display. It also features Olympus's Dust Reduction System to produce spot-free photos with the exclusive Olympus' Dust Reduction System produces spot-free photos with the exclusive Supersonic Wave Filter, a patented ultrasonic technology that shakes at 35,000 vibrations a second to remove dust from in front of the camera sensor every time you turn the camera on.

The camera has a large 215,250 pixels 2.5-inch HyperCrystal LCD display with a view angle of 160 degrees and measures 5.09 x 3.72 x 2.59 inches with a weight of 15.3 ounces.

The Olympus EVOLT E-500 Digital SLR will be available in October 2005. It includes: EVOLT E-500 Body with 14-45mm f3.5/5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens, USB Cable, Video Cable, Li-Ion Battery Pack (BLM-1), Li-Ion Battery Charger (BCM-2), Shoulder Strap, OLYMPUS Master Software CD-ROM, Manuals, Warranty card.

The EVOLT E-500 with 14-45mm f3.5/5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens will sell for $799.99 and the EVOLT E-500 TWO Lens Outfit; 14-45mm f3.5/5.6 and 40-150mm f3.5/4.5 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens will go for $899.99.
