Epic Games Store crashes as too many people want free GTA V

As I wrote yesterday, the Epic Games Store is temporarily offering a free copy of GTA V. If you put the game in your Epic Games Store library, the game is yours to keep forever. This offer is valid until next Thursday and it's such a big hit that the Epic Games Store crashed under the massive demand. Despite being nearly seven years old, GTA V is still massively popular and that resulted in slow loading times, very slow downloads, as well as 500 errors.

At the moment, the situation seems to have normalized so you should now be able to get your cop of GTA V: Premium Edition without much trouble.

Rumor has it that a free copy of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt may be up next in one of the coming weeks. This game is five-years old but still very popular, especially since the release of the Netflix series.
