ATI Raedon X1600 to use DDR 1, 2 and 3

Posted on Thursday, September 29 2005 @ 22:30:14 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

The Inquirer reports the ATI Raedon X1600 (RV530) will come in many shapes. The firm has prepared four different PCB and card designs and at least six more sub variants.

The Radeon X1600 XT will have a 600MHz core with 1400MHz memory and a 128 bit memory interface. ATI's partners have the choice to deliver cards with 128MB or 256MB memory and some of them will use 136 ball GDDR3 memory while others will come with 144 bal GDDR3 memory. Some cards will also come without VIVO options, it's all up to ATI's partners to decide.

The Radeon X1600 RO will feature a 500MHz core and will come with 500MHz or 800MHz memory with a 128 bit memory interface.

The Radeon X1600 PRO with 800MHz memory will come as 256 and 512MB cards and will feature 84 ball DDR2 memory while Radeon X1600PRO with memory clocked at 500MHz will use 128, 256 or 512MB DDR1 memory.
